I used a rather crude method of measuring the internal bore of the fuel rail with a drill bit, I made it @5.5mm on the feed, and slightly smaller 5(?)mm on the return, not sure what that equates to?
Again, you need to be more specific. Inside the cabin, outside the cabin ? Will the lines be anywhere vulnerable to damage ?

Copper, steel, alloy, nylon, rubber and many others are all viable options. Whether they are suitable for your application is another matter.
