Powerlite Starter Motor 318

Post by Camo »

Hi,
I am needing to get a small starter motor for my Moss project, this one is ideal if you ignore the price, but Does anyone have experiance of these ?
My question is can it be put on either way, ie solenoid up or down ?

http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/p ... tegory/139

I need the solenoid down for it to fit... If its not able to fit either way I need to rethink the whole steering column rather tahn starter size..

any advice is welcomed.

Thanks
Stu

Snug as a bug, fits with at least 5cm clearance on the column.

I use one myself, no they cant be fitted either way, they are available but different part numbers and one is more expensive than the other.

Did have a problem with mine to start with, was very noisey on disengaging from the flywheel, had it all checked, teeth, depth etc, even had it changed but was still the same, after a month it quietened down and has been fine ever since, that was 2 years ago, works great but is slightly louder on spin over than the original.

Got mine from Rimmer Bros as it was easy to get changed had I had a problem which they did easily.
