Help Identifying Relays - 1992 3.5 V8 EFI Disco

Post by edwardbahaw »

Guys

Need some advice from you all!

Recently purchased a 1992, 3.5v8 EFI (RHD) discovery and want to get to understand the toy a bit more.

I have taken pics of the electrical relays and alarm ECU which are attached. I am hoping that some of you wise ones in here might be able to help me identify each relay in the pictures.

Most importantly I am trying to find out which relay(s) is responsible for operating the door locks via the remote fob or key!

Looking forward to your comments.

Regards
Ed

Just guessing since I don't know your version, but central locking doesn't normally have external relays. They're usually built in to the controller.

You really need the Land Rover workshop manual. The one I have for Range Rover has photos of all relays, connectors, etc, and tells you what they are.

Sorry I thought I had replied to your last PM. PM me your email address and I will email you the relevant pages from the LR workshop manual including the diagnostic procedure for the central locking

As others have said there are no relays in the circuit. The switching is done by the solonoid in the drivers door. I know your remote fob does not operate the CL but does it work if you lock the drivers with the key?
