Has anyone got a drawing of the rear of a RV8 showing the dimension layout for the bellhousing bolts and dowels etc.

What about Ralph who was making that mental Metro with a transverse rear mounted V8 and mated it to a Rover FWD gearbox
He also has the necessary machines and watercut stuff to cut them out

Depends how it´s done. My good friend has stuffed one RV8 into a Clubman, still transverse fwd and eveything fits under the std bonnet. And it drives just like a Mini, apart from a slightly better performance.
I have a work in progress drawing from when I was going to convert a Rover V8 to Ford MT75 gearbox.
It's been stuck on my online files for years and you can download it from here

If you don't have AutoCad you can download this free software that works a treat.

Original sizes came from a guy on here called 'integerspin' if I remember correctly.

Thanks for your reply.DaveEFI wrote:I dropped it into ProCad+ here and used the dimension finder. That gave the distance between the two bottom holes as 391.91mm. If this is correct (don't think it is) I could easily do the rest. But I prefer DXF files.
The actual tape measure distance from the dowel holes to the crank centre is 184mm.
That dimension on the drawing is over 200mm ??? so I am confused
ooops!
Just tried again and got the same 391.91 as you did to bottom holes.
Tape measure also the same.
So all is well now.
Not sure what I did before.
Thanks for your help.
Regards Denis
I never got to check the Rover sizes, sorry
Intergerspin was on the old V8 forum and I can't find the archive now
From what I have measured on the drawing
Right hand dowel is x+184.85 y 0
Left hand dowel is x-171.64 y+70.44
Ralph85 who posts here would be worth a PM
cheers
