Vortech Chargers
Moderator: phpBB2 - Administrators
yes Mike thats the CCW charger (hope im right Stevie), the air intake is towards the frotn of the car hence i can move it cloaser to the engine and use the single drive belt,
I would love the paxton i have here, but its big bodied, hence having to try and move everything forward to try and use two belts,
Thats why im looking for a more modern gear driven charger as they seem to be a bit more compact etc and i maybe able to squezze it in,

Isnt your one a gear driven ?
Have a look over in the for sale section of LS1Tech.
You'll find a few Procharger units there. P1SC is their smaller unit, but more than enough for a RV8
Here is just one example.

Or a lightly damaged Vortech.
IMO just trim a bit off the opposite blade and it would be fine.

Basically just as it says on their site.
The T-trim is the larger version.
http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/view.php?pcat=16
Either will be more than enough for an RV8 though.
Most of their units would work ok. The V3 is self contained, so no worries about an oil supply or return.
Much like the Prochargers.
One good thing about the Procharger, is they use a higher internal gear step up. This means larger diameter pulley can be used, so less chance of slippage.
but they all make excellent units.

Hi Tony could you put up some pictures of your old Paxton on the engine please. My Eaton wont fit not even with a short nose, so I could be in the market for your type of blower if it will fit and of course at the right price .
regards Eric.
Hi Eric,
sorry mate but you will have to join the queue
already had 5 members contact me asking if im selling the paxton,
I will once i can get a replacement etc,
no pictures on engine as never fitted it, i bought it 2 yrs ago then had the engine probs last year and didnt have the money or time to do it,
it needs a dipstick making, (i have a full engineers working drawing from paxton here for said item) but never got round to it as it never got fitted,
and a pulley (i have two on order 3.5" and a 3.75") there is also a brand new in its box heavy duty ball bearing housing,

Well, they are good for a little over 1000bhp, so perhaps yes.Coops wrote:is a novi 2000 to big for a 4.6 rv8
But they can of course simply be spun slower. But dont forget, the bigger units are physically bigger too.
The 2000 will have a 4" intake and a 3" discharge, same as mine.
So make sure you are aware of all dimensions used.
But there is no reason why you couldnt use one, if you got it at the right price.
Some of the Vette guys at the lower end of the power scale use the 2000, but restrict the intake to limit boost at the upper rpm's
So that could be an option too.
