3.5 carb to 3.5 Hot wire EFI

Post by REO »

Hi there.

I just got myself a Land Rover with a 3.5 V8 carb engine. I would realy like to shift to injection. and preferably the lucas 14 CUX hot wire unit.

My question is then. Can I take the injection unit from a 3.9 Discoverry with manifold and everything and bolt it on to my 3.5? I would really like to keep the 3.5 since it is in mint condition.

Regards Rasmus

yes basically it will all fit and just bolt on, you will need a chip fron a 3.5 EFI disco for the ecu but everything else will fit.

The inlet ports are slightly different - the injection ones have a small notch in the roof to clear the injector spray pattern. However people have ignored that detail and not reported any deleterious effects.

It's also worth using the later ignition system too.
