The Weber is going. Holley now has its chance to impress me.

600 DP soon ready for test runs.

Perry! I hope you got a discount for having 1 float chamber chromed and 1 plain!!! Are they the red plates for easy jet changes I see too? Good to see no silly choke flaps in the way too

No chokes for me Tom :)
The whole thing has been nicely done. And even with shipping and import duty. £100 Less than one off the shelf in the UK :)

RESULT!!!

She works just fine. I did have one issue on intitial startup. ie, I could not get it to idle under 2000rpm, and had to richen up the idle screws to the max.

Then Tricky pointed out that, although I had fitted my rubber caps to the small 1/8th vac nipples. I had missed the bloody great 3/8" one at the back of the carb for the servo. He found this in 10 seconds DOH!!
Then remembered where I had put said large rubber cap and stuck it on.

After he had called me all sorts of names. Well no, I take that back. I could not hear him over the noise of the car idling. He could see I couldnt hear him. So he gestured that I should perhaps think about polishing my bonnet pole. Well I think thats what he meant ??

She idles fine at 800rpm and responds really well to the pedal. And from idle I can whack all 4 of those mutha flaps wide open and she just revs right to the max without a worry :)

Now I can get reading up on the carb for some fine tuning.

Now waiting for new Slicks to arrive while I'm refurbing the new (1970's) 15x9 slot mags I got on fleabay. Man are they ever tatty?

My new slicks are 27.3" tall as opposed to my old 26" tall ones thast I melted on the dyno. So that should give me maybe half a gear to keep my rpm down a bit at the big end of the track.

Big Cheesy Grin time :D

It was simple Tom!!

Just tweaked the idle mixture screws in until it started to faulter, then back out a 1/4 turn. Repeated this for each side and she seems good. I'm not sure if this is the correct way for this carb. It was just my own approach :)
