Modifying the inlet port on a carb head to suit injection

Hi,

I'm just in the process of fitting injection to a carb engine and the heads don't have the cutouts in the inlet port where the injectors go. I can see by assembly the manifold to the engine where they should go but am unsure as to the exact shape of the cutout. Can anyone help with a picture and or description.

I dont think it has to be too precise. You are just trying to give the injector a better line of site into the inlet port.

The composite valley gaskets has the indents that show where the heads need grinding

Take a close look at an LS1 'cathedral' inlet port. You might be able to actually improve on the real inj 3.9 heads (which only have a small cut-out for the injector spray) by giving the injectors a better shot at the valve ala LS1..
