3.5 , runs ok on lpg but not on petrol

hi , my 3.5 efi runs ok on lpg but runs as if missing on a few cylinders when cold , it gets better the more it warms up. After 15 minutes or so .
I have changed the fuel filter plugs coil and cap . which improved things a bit . but the uneven running is still there. Starts ok from cold but then goes into a burbling mess .
can you suggest where to look next .

is it a Flapper EFI , if so start it up and uplug the Air flow meter ...
if it smooths out let me know ...

Ok tried doing that car running for about one minute on petrol, then unplugged flapper , engine died straight away . Is that what it should do because its getting no single .

right that means you havn't got the same problem i had ..
is it a flapper set up ?
if so sounds as if the temp sensor on the manifold is not working properly ..it controls the 9th injector on the side of the plenum and adds extra fuel when the engine is cold ...
there are 2 of them close together under the top hose , it;s the rear one of the 2 , the smaller one ..you can't miss them , look where th top hose joins the thermostat housing and they are just behind the hose

I agree, it sounds like the temperature sensor is making it run too rich. Are there black smuts coming out of the exhaust?

Thermo-time switch does the cold start stuff, the extra injector and the extra-air valve.

The other one is the temp sensor for the ECU, which you can check from the ECU multiplug as shown in the manual with a multimeter.

which one would you think is at fault Chris ?

mine's doing excatly the same at the moment runs like a bag of poop on petrol when cold so i warm it on LPG
i would have put it down to the TTS as it's not giving the xtra fueling when cold , ie: no choke ..

Could be either to be honest as they both can affect mixture.

I'd test them with a multimeter.

yes the expensive one is expensive , i had a look around on the net and one post the guy said he had fitted one to a sd1 , off a ford Fiesta.
does any one know if this is true or tried it . must be lots cheaper
