Broken collet

Any of you guys ever broken a collet whilst removing valves? Had one break the other day when stripping the heads off my discovery, but everyone i spoke to had never experienced this! Had to buy 10 as minimum order, but would rather do this than put broken one back in & have it fail later. At 30 pence each, it did,nt break the bank! lol

I've stripped quite a few heads, but only on the rovers have they come out broken, maybe just one of those things !
