I was under the impression that they were roughly £2500 but I could be very wrong. Not sure if that includes the rocker gear (individual stud mount roller rockers) and rocker covers (old buick fixing pattern). Both are totally different to std rover stuff. As for inlet manifold, if you want a 4 brl one then you can use a std rover part with spacer plates but they ports will be badly mismatched - both in size and height up the side of the headface (to straighted the runners) - even the stage 1 W/C ports make even stage 4 rover head ports look tiny. You'll also need new/modified exhaust manifolds because again the ports are much higher on the side of the head which straightens up the exhaust port runners.
Why not phone Ian direct?

I can post some comparative pictures if you like.

Yeah, but those figures are with a blower. Anyway, if he says he's going to build them (and I understand he has... I'm sold...)chodjinn wrote:Power Potential: Will support up to 1000 HP (1)

When i asked ian about some stage 1 and a wildcat inlet manifold to fit the heads he quoted me £2100 but the price might go up a little but i wouldnt think it would be more than £2200. The only thing is he isnt in a rush to get jobs done. When i was getting my bottom end from him he told me a few weeks and he was going to put pockets in the pistons while building it so when i come to buy wildcat heads they would just fit streight on. I begged for my engine back after 4+ months and said the pockets could wait but i couldnt anymore. I had problems with the first crank after only 70 miles, So he sorted another one out for me and it only took him another 4 -5 months to get it machined. Very nice bloke who pushes your patience to the limit and futher, Or maybe very laid back or laid down maybe

May be I am wrong but this heads have been designed for 3.8'' bore.
Ultra big valves with good seat design increase low lift flow who is a major influence on the shape of the power curve after peak power.
But here majority uses 3.7'' bore. How shrouding factor will now affect low lift flow figures ?
IMO that 's why RS doesn't sell Merlin heads for 3.5'' bore.
