tfl emissions zone in 2010 london
i hear that in 2010, any land rover, 90/110, series 3/2 van or station wagon type, with a oil burner engine pre 2002,
will cost the owner £100 a day
to drive in the capital citys emission zone .
pre 73 are exempt.
wonder if v8 conversions will go through the roof in the near future ? ?
any thoughts, should i/we start stocking with engines up now ! !
cheers les , v8 90 on lpg...

When I was on holiday in Kenya many years ago we lost the power in the hotel, turned out that someone dug a up the power cable (power still on!
) put a chain around the exposed cable and fixed the other end onto a pickup, drove off pulling up the cable. They got a about mile down the road before the cable broke, cut the power to about 15 hotels aparently they sold the cable for the copper, happend all the time!!!!

2 blokes were killed in Zimbabwe when they tried to steal the cable that had just been installe near the railway line.
Silly buggers had never seen electrified rail overhead wires and clibmed the pylon with a hacksaw!
Out in Zimbabler - and a lot of the rest of Africa too the biggest thing is Copper - steal any wire they can get their hands on and melt it down and sell it for recycling Telephone cables now last a matter of days! LAy it in a trench and they come in - connect a tractor and tow it away.
I am surprised though that more petrol is not being syphoned in this country - A tankful is worth £50 and is really quite easy pickings.
