Hi
On the GT40 I am running Granada uprights
On the upright is bolted an AP caliper which I was advised was the same as an Austin Princess and these 4 pot calipers were taken as a good upgrade on many Ford vehicles.
So simply put does anyone have a part number for the vented discs that would fit the Granada 5 stud / AP combo - a load simpkler than stripping it and speaking to a Radi Salesman in Halfords?
Also does anyone know part number for the pads and can you recommend a good pad to use for fast road (odd track time to 140mph)
Cheers
Ian

What model of Granada ??
Id be surprised if the modern type used the same fitment as the Princess stuff ( as I think MK2 Escorts might have done ?? )
if its a modern style Granada, then anything Sierra based should bolt on ??
Ferodo DS2500's are good pads. Also hear good reports on Pagid, but never used them myself.

I believe they are Mk2 granada
Same caliper mounting bolt spacing as the rest of the Ford stuff
But presumably the depth of the "bell" will either make it fit or not
Cheers for the advice

MK2 calipers are not the same fitment as later Fords. I know this for a fact.
If you were prepared to make some caliper brackets, and you do indeed use a MK2 hub and driving flange...
I have this pair of old discs I used to use. Could maybe do with a skim.
310x28mm AP racing with custom bells.

I had used a pair of BMW 5/6 series 4 pots, on brackets to space them out a bit. Similar in appearance to Cossie 4 pots, although different.

Ohh Brakes,
Pads, I like the EBC GreenStuff pads, Ive been using them for a few years now, the dont dust up too much and give good progressive feel
AP Princess 4 pots, these dont offer much if any advantage over the Granada M18 calipers, The Piston area is the same, and the Pad swept area is nearly the same, the only advantage is the placement of the pistons on the 4 pots is better spread around the pad
heres a pic of my brakes on the Cortina,
I took off Princess calipers and fitted these Porsche callipers, TBH I think the Princess were better suited to my braking system and offered a better feel and balance, but Im playing around with the size of my MC at the moment to see if that helps.

Can I just make a suggestion here?
Everyone knows Tony's car - the brakes are awesome.
I think your best bet is to follow the ideas here as we know the results are spectacular.
The disc used is a BMW 315mm 28 thick and about 77mm deep
The pcd is 120mm - not a long way from the granada.
I'm not so familiar with propper AP stuff but I can tell you the Princess caliper
is a joke.
Go looking for some Brembo calipers - I bet the Porsche Brembo does the job?
On tony's we used the Fiat 20V turbo calipers and we also use BMW E38
Both good and not hard to find. We have at least 2 pairs or each on the shelf - also have some Evo calipers which go on a 325mm BMW disc just the same. These calipers are all lug mount so brackets are easy.
Think we could sort out a couple of laser blanks near enough if it helps.
There is a bit of machining work but ask Tony if he thinks it was worth the work.

Just some of what we do
