priming oil pump

hi, how long can you leave a rover v8 engine before you have to prime the oil pump before you start it up thanks paul

The longest I have left my RV8 in the garage without starting it is 4 months. It started on the button and oil pressure came up in 6 seconds.

If you are worried about the pump not being primed. take out all the plugs and spin the engine over on the starter for 30 secs or so, and watch the oil pressure gauge or light for a reaction
