Stewart Electric Water Pump - Installation

Post by adamnreeves »

I've bought a EMP Stewart Components Electric Water Pump - E389A off someone. It's brand new but missing instructions.

It has a control module to which there are only two wires, a red and a black one. Seems straight forward enough. However missing the specifications also not sure whether it needs a permanent live or ignition switched live. I was under the impression these pumps run on after the engine is switched off to cool down. There is no obvious thermostat but this might be built into the pump.

I've found the stewart web site but has no instructions and the specification is scant, well in terms of real technical stuff, like how the controller works. There's a link to a forum but this has been down for the last two days I have tried.
