Cooling woes

Post by ppyvabw »

mmmm, overheated in traffic a moment ago. pulled over as soon as i could, steam....hising etc.... let it cool down for a bit and limped it to a garage. loosened filler nut, tried to let pressure off, then foolishly undid completely, water sprayed out all over neighbouring cars. Very amusing.

Let it cool, filled it up and all seems fine now. Just hope theres no damage.

I was in a traffic jam. The temperature was rising and tried listening out for the fans but couldnt hear them whilst in the car. Waited until I could pull over so i didnt cause an even bigger traffic jam lol by which team it had started steaming.

I switched off, got out and let it cool. Switched on the ignition and the fans where working. Checked yesterday though and they never started so it seems to be an intermittent fault with the fans and I suspect its the temp switch because by shorting out the contacts they work

I would recommend wiring in an manual overide switch and a light to tell you when they are on on the dash board, gives a great deal of peace of mind.
