Water pump heater return

Post by v8alex »

I want to block off the heater return pipe on the top of my water pump. How best to do this ? Can you simply buy a rubber cap and hold it in place with a jubilee clip ?

I want to do this because DAX supply a stainless pipe that runs down from the water pump outlet to the base of the radiator and has a heater return pipe fitted on it. This will allow me to run the heater return from there, past the front of the engine, back up the side of the chassis, eventually finding its way to the heater unit itself.

Hopefully this makes sense. If so, can anyone point me in the direction of a supplier ?

Alex

Any cap would have to be reinforced in the same way that rubber hoses are.

You could:
- Tap the hole and plug it
- Stick a piece of pipe over it and shove a bolt in the other end of the pipe.

I tapped the internal bore and fitted a permenant plug in the hole.
