Brake pipe and hose supplier

Post by DaveEFI »

I'm doing a rear disc brake conversion on the SD1 And will need hoses and pipework to suit. Any recommendations for a one stop supplier? Where I can choose hoses by length and fittings rather than car make. And all the other bits too.

Rally Design near Whitstable in Kent - they will make up braided hoses in whatever lengths you want.

I was hoping to just choose off the shelf sizes. The calliper end needs a banjo, the other end to the pipe. The actual length isn't critical as I can make the brackets to suit.

You can buy the braided DIY stuff from a multitude of sources. It's fairly easy to do.

But strictly speaking all brakes hoses should be crimped. Not the DIY screw together stuff. Although I dont think Ive ever heard of any of them failing MOT ( but apparently they should )

Wasn't intending making up the hoses. Just wanted somewhere that sold them by the hose spec rather than car model.

Most big retailers will be able to make to your spec.

Just decide what ends you want, hose type etc and they will make them.

Or anywhere that sells hoses really. There are quite a few now.

I've not been able to find anywhere that you can choose hoses by length etc rather than car model, so making them up seems the way. Demon Tweeks seem to have all the bits and info from Goodridge- but seem very expensive. Any others do similar at better prices?
