All,
Cars always have a ton of little metal brackets holding all sorts of odds and ends.
They are always painted matt black.
I would like to make some myself, but don't know what primer / paint is used. It's very good stuff as they last for ages without corroding.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Chris.

Re: Black paint
powder coated ?
Proper 2 pack paint as per OEM would be hard wearing...not always practical for small brackets at home though
Some of the POR15 products get a good rep though, but I've never used them myself.
Local powdercoaters really doesnt charge a lot though

Re: Black paint
I did try POR15 on my van - and I wasn't that impressed with it to be honest. It didn't seem any better than Hammerite...
2 Pack - I will investigate that a bit more. I will have quite a few brackets to do.

Re: Black paint
I use black 2k which is gloss but to get satin or matt you have to mix a matting agent. Alternatively you could try a chassis black which Iam told is more durable.

Re: Black paint
Your local paint shop will be able to mix matte or satin finish for you.
