Can anyone tell me what these bracket things are?
This may seem like a daft question, but I'm trying to find out the name of the small cylindrical tube sections that are used on race cars to hold bodywork etc. on, as seen in the pic below. It's the small parts that the bolt goes in, holding the intercooler in place. I need a bunch of these and not sure whether you can buy them off the shelf of would have to make some myself?

I meant the cylindrical things that the bolts go into, that the frame is welded to. There are two that the top of the intercooler bolt to, which are welded to the thin support frame.
Wanting to know if I can buy them in packs or have to get them machined on a lathe etc.

Washers come in a number of "forms" thicknesses and diameters

So for instance a 25mm tube with an M8 mount - I would use a Form G washer - The tube I would use would be 1.5mm wall so a 2mm base would suit depending on application.

Right they are stainless washers, I can't weld that at the moment can you get mild steel ones? I've looked around and struggling to find mild steel washers in the right thicknessDarkspeed wrote:Washers come in a number of "forms" thicknesses and diameters

The form does not designate a material.
Just put From G washer in ebay and you will have loads of sellers - Plain/Black finish can sometimes be a pain to get on ebay ( I use a local fastener stockist) If you go for BZP or Zinc plated all you will need to do is give them a rub over on a bit of 240 wet and dry to remove the coating for welding
For example

You will never run out

I just managed to find some on ebay actually, but thanks for the links! I never thought of rubbing off the zinc coating at all
I went for 16.3mm x 1.4mm washers, and 19.2mm x 2mm tubing which should be ok for the bolted parts.
The support struts will be 16mm x 1.5mm tubing.
Managed to get the lot (inc. 5x 1m lengths of tubing) for just over £20. Will give it a try and see what I can rustle up, thanks for the help so far mate!
