Hello. I have a London Taxi that I’m putting a 3.9 V8 in. It was an EFI but will put SUs on. All the mountings are done and it’s nearly ready to go in for the last time. I joined so I can pick your collective brains about various things as I go. Many thanks,
G

Welcome to the Mad House
A V8 London Taxi, isnt that how they should always have been?
We do of course need pictures to feed our collective habit.

Re: Hello all
Here’s where we are at the moment. The EFI has been taken off and replaced with SU carburettors.
The heel boxes have been pocketed slightly to allow access to the spark plugs and the bonnet stay moved slightly for the same reason.
The ancillaries have been put on including the original Nissan PAS pump.
A new radiator based on that used by the MGB V8 is being fitted along with a remote oil filter onto the left chassis leg.
The heater is away getting blasted and repainted.
A box to convert electric speed signals to a rotary signal has arrived and that will go on the shelf where the diesel filter used to be. The taxi meter and door lock transducer will be put on this box too so those systems still work.
I’ll keep you updated if you guys are interested...

Re: Hello all
There was one that I saw when I lived in Middlesex, saw it on the 316 Ashford / Sunbury area and it was modified a lot! Must have been running 14 inch wide rear tyres and burbled along through the traffic.
