Hello all.
I'm new here, but not new to the rover v8
I fitted a rebuilt 4.6 engine in my range rover back in 2004.
Built by Lund engines, I seem to be lucky and have a good one from him ( although the tappers take forever to come up, and there is an annoying crank seal leak...)
It's got top hat liners, LE2 cam I think, 10.5 CR, big valve heads and ported manifold, has done about 35k miles, and goes very nicely indeed, but doesn't pull so well from idle ( which is what I expected, given the build spec), but pulls very strongly to redline.
Range rover is now too rusty to save, but the engine is a real joy, and will be living on in my new acquisition, a defender 90, 50th edition.
The engine is a late 4.6 cross bolted block, but is running "Hotwire" , so I've got some swapping over of parts to do.
I'll be stripping it down and inspecting it at the very least, probably change the tappets...
So you'll be finding me on here asking all the (un)usual questions...
Mike.
