Hello from a newbie with an unusual car for this site

Post by The Saint »

Hello all, I am new on this site as I have just purchased what I believe to be a Land ranger kit car but I have nothing to support this. It has what I believe to be a Rover 3.9 V8 which I think has seen better days, so I will be asking lots of questions soon :D I know this thread is worthless without pictures, so here you go. Thanks Ben.

Sorry no, I've only had it a week. Been out in it this morning and it's still putting a grin on my face.
Not sure what a Buick 455 is but I might be able to give it a good home

It's 7.4 litres of pure American muscle. They fitted it to numerous cars but the grandaddy of them all was the Buick GSX Stage 1........the unrivaled king of the 70's muscle cars.

I've got two engines in the workshop, a standard 455 producing about 420bhp and a slightly tweaked version with 502 cubic inches and around 600bhp

I got enough projects on!, 'tis still a very nice motor though.

Not sure what a 455 would do to it, apart from make it drive around with the rear wheels in the air though.

Ah someone else who mistakenly thinks the 455 is a huge lump of heavy iron.

In standard trim it weighs the same as a Land Rover diesel lump, or about 11kg more than a Chevy 350 and 70kg less than a Chevy 454

With alloy heads and an alloy intake it's about half way between a Rover V8 and a Chevy 350
