im looking to keep the original ride height and to professionally band the original wheels, from the outside i want it all to look stock.

just re read this bit, I'm using bm alloys for my beast and eventually will want to use wider rear wheels (ha! once I get the thing on the road!) but I too want to keep the exterior appearance. Have you found any info on getting alloys banded out safely?
