The builder is my mate Wayne, and the photos side is run by another mate, Mark who's building an awesome pro-street Pop.

Sorry no help! time to hit Google I guess, throws up 1 or 2 like:

Time to get the tape measure out me thinks :? good project.
remember the rover V8 isn't the smallest V8 out there, it is long and fairly tall.

As you say 'different is good', so the idea of doing something different is that nobody else has done it before, else it ain't gonna be different.

If there was a whole wealth of info on swapping V8s into a Lada Niva it would be just another boring engine swap. I reckon just buy a Lada, buy a V8, and get out the gas axe. 8-)

Been there, tried it.Really doesn't fit.The engine and drivetrain is off set way to 1 side preventing it.Options would be to cut all the floorpan and mounts out and fabricate all new stuff as the air bag suspension guys did(Car for sale on Ebay at the moment )or use a really narrow v engine like a vr6 golf and posibly a buick/commodore v6 which I have heard of but have never seen a pic or write up on.I have a Fiat 130 60 degree v6 and that is too tight as well.its 4-5 inches narrower than a rover. If you move the drive train to the centre, you would need a new centered front diff, new driveshafts to suit, lift the motor to clear the diff, move the firewall back, move the brake booster and master cyl, clutch cyl........list goes on.

Maybe a wrx turbo would be the go?

I saw a Manta rally car with a v8 in it. The tubular exhaust manifolds were a real work of art.
Let's just say, i wouldn't like to change the plugs when the engine was hot
