Aha! Missed that bit lol. Well in that case it's probably a good idea, a relatively cheap mod compared to buying and LSD or some other fancy gubbins.

Mk3 Fiesta RV8 Track/drag/drift car?! Very nice I say, if a little mad :p)

You sticking Nitrous in it as well? Nutter

Nitrous???

Hell yes!!
I'm pulling the whole power train out of my 12 second MGB to stick in the Festa.
I've got a new 4.6 for the MG, and a new th350 & converter etc.
I'm just picking up bits on ebay like a inlet manifold and carb etc.

I'm close to starting the winter conversion. The Festa is allready gutted. I've got a whole MGB front crossmember to go in so thats the suspension and steering sorted (he says) Just got to make it fit eh?
Got a spare diff to weld up. The big buy will be a shifter kit. But I've got my eye on one in the states for about 50 quid minus the T handle. I know it will be a left hand drive shifter, but who cares??

I welded a Range Rover diff some years ago. The star wheels had broken, I just cleaned it up a bit and fired a load of arc welding rods at it. It was a short term measure while I sourced a diff, but I did some road miles a couple of trials without failure.

The front crossmember is now cleaned and lubed up. Just need to overhaul the front brakes and she will be ready to start trial fitting. I can see some thick plate / bracket welding coming on. And I cant wait!!

Been a bit sluggish on this with starting a new job and other delays.
November should see the engine out and all the other bits off like fuel tank and the rear end.

I'm leaning towards making a box section frame to bolt all the running gear onto. Then fit the body over the top. Or should I make a frame for the engine, and a frame for the rear end. Then when the front and back bits are bolted on, just weld interconnecting box sections to join the front and back frames, then weld and bolt the connectiong bits onto the body?

Cheap is good as it will be done bit by bit as the money comes in.
