work as ground to a halt big time.
i set the preload, and turned over by hand ok,
fitted the inlet etc and then primed the oil systemwhen i went to turn over again i noticed it was hard when at full lift thus when i noticed how squashed the valve springs were, it looks as if we may have the wrong springs
im off over to check the ones on the 4.6 heads to see if they have the same coils if so then i need different ones

either i am counting them wrong,
or both heads have the same amount of coils 6.
the 4.6 coils are 0.166 thick
and the stg3 ones 0.168 thick
some thing tells me these aint uprated springs :(

looks like i am off to RS in the morning for a set of TLR50 uprated springs,
two more head gaskets and another inlet gasket
starting to wonder is it all worth it :(

Oh the progress before we ground to a halt.

timing cover, with waterpump and oil pump fitted.

Tony did you have to buy a whole set of pushrods just to replace the one bent one? Thats kind of annoying, I had the same situation a while back. I wanted to buy one adjustable pushrod to use as a measuring tool so I could get my pushrods made up to spec (i'm using solid cam). I couldn't buy just the one either. The annoying thing is in the catalogue they quote the price for the individual pieces of an adjustable rod! If it says in the cat then I think you should be able to buy. Nevermind, I got two adjustable trickflow measuring rods from the states for less than a score all in. I like Real Steel, good guys, good company, but if they dont want to sell parts in ones then dont price them up in ones in the catalogue.

He had to buy a set as nobody would sell him just one. I think they buy them in sets so want to sell them as sets.

and bugger me they straightened it why did i not go there first yesterday instead of racing off to get new ones
never mind got a spare set now that is no use to me
