excellent job ... its only when you see them like thsi that you realise how shitty they are put together at fords ..

never seen so many panels on top of panels on panels and hiiden baffles etc

Makes you wonder how it lasted this long!

This is a German built car and I think the rust prevention is better on these....

Finished the rear of the sill and got a coat of epoxy primer on the back end.



Sill need some filler work due to welding distortion and the fact that the replacment bit is a pattern part

Also got this from a guy on Ebay

Work with a spit can lead to O.C.D as it's much easier to concentrate on one small patch at a time.


Sorted out the passenger side sill, drilled out lots of spot welds and made good all the swelling and rust between the layers as well as tidying up the repair on the rear of the sill.







After repairing the bumper mounting points on the front wing I bare metaled it and gave it a coat of epoxy primer.







Next on the to do list is making the replacement battery tray bolt in so it can be painted properly to prevent rust.

Got this brand new billet aluminium Accufab 75mm throttle body for £100 complete with EGR spacer and gaskets





I will need to open out the intake manifold to match...

Converting battery tray to bolt in and removing rust...















Strut top to inner wing gussets to add some strength




More wire wheeling rust and paint off







Finally some primer

Thanks chaps.

Coated the whole underside with 3½ litres of Epoxy mastic to keep the stone chips at bay



Will overpaint it body colour eventually.

Got fed up and thought of selling for a while

Paint finish from the epoxy mastic was not as nice as I would have liked.



Sanded the whole thing down again with 120 grit



Ready for more epoxy primer

Wet sanded the damn thing down with 600 grit, took a lot of time and patience!

Next was frozen white two pack, mixed results, dry patches, runs and bits of shite stuck in the paint.

Some more work needed to get it nice and the pics make it look far better than it really is...

I was not happy with the finish on the underside, so sanded it all down and re-did it a bit at a time

Sorting out some scabby bits on the roof











New captive nuts for the rear spoiler made at work and welded in.









Now gone to a painter mate of mine as it's too much of a PITA in a single garage, plus I'm truly pissed off with sanding....



Some new valve covers for when it eventually goes back together



Change of plans with the diff, got hold of a Jag 3.54 LSD, should be much stronger than the Cossy one



Finally, a tax disc for when it's all in one piece again
