My local 'zorst shop has a big belt sander they use to square things off after welding, works a treat.
Cheers,

For exhaust flanges. I always go excessively think to reduce the chances of warpage. And if possible, bolt them to the heads before welding.

Then if they do, the flanges are plenty thick that they can be machined flat again

Flanges are 10mm thick.

I welded the stubs on from the back as there is not much room to get the header bolts in.

After a bit of time with a vice they are pretty straight now, I just need to figure out a way of clamping them down and skimming the weld off on a milling machine.

Pic before welding showing how close the header bolts are.

When i saw the newly cut ones above I could see that the header bolts are super close.
on my turbo manifolds I used cap screws as it was easier than getting a spanner in there.

Hi,

Did you price up copper RV8 head gaskets, how many from a sheet and price for a half or full sheets worth please. 1mm is fine for us.

Thanks

Alan
