Insurance time again

Post by Spongo »

Well its the dreaded renewal time and I thought the £518 I was quoted was a tad steep (my current insurer is Acadamy) so loooking through the forum I called the ones recommended, quotes ranged from £600 with a stupid excess of a £1000.00 to a much more sensible £420.00, still high for a car that does about 2000 miles a year but better than the renewal quote.

Other than the ones shown on the forum can anyone recommend a good insurer of a modified vehicle?

My Fury ended up on a classic car policy with A-Plan as it is registered as 1976.

1500 miles, agreed value, UK & European recovery, and occasional commuting..... £122

Ok after a bit of negotiation I have been given an annual figure of £255 by Classicline, had to reduce the mileage a bit but thats no biggy and considering you get a guaranteed valuation and they didnt mind about all the mods I think its a result

Hi,
If you haven't already renewed your insurance and heaven't already tried ourselves then please feel free to do so. If you wanted to PM me some contact details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan

Tried Flux and A plan both were in excess of £400.00 and there was no guaranteed valuation.

I suppose many companies dont like the idea of a 400hp 2.5T brick :)

SKCC uses the A Plan branch that can be contacted on 01635 874646 in case that helps. They do agreed values too.

Well I stuck with Classicline after all that, there quote was a whapping £250 cheaper than my renewal so I am well happy :)

All of the other insurers recommended were between £150 and £300 pounds more than my new Classicline policy.
