If it's specific drag use you want, just get a pair of drag radials.
BFG and Nitto would be usable as road legal tyres as they have decent visual tread patterns and both do work well.
Hoosier and MT's, no chance as far as road legal goes.
For 100% legal tyres. Toyo 888's really are pretty good.
Kumho's V70's are available in a lot of sizes and some on soft compounds which would work well at a drag strip.
However having just chewed a set on road/hillclimbs here. They offer very poor mileage before they are illegal.
On that basis alone I'd say just go for 888's. I think Toyo offer limited sizes in soft compound too.

A lot of slicks you'll find for sale are for long track use. For any short usage they will be useless because they'll never get hot enough
So will be a total waste of money
A mate bought some dirt cheap on ebay and they were circuit slicks. They bounced all over the place as the sidewalls had no give in them.

It's not so much the sidewalls. The wrong slicks will have even less grip than normal road tyres when not used correctly.mgbv8 wrote:stevieturbo wrote:Dont buy anything unless you are 100% sure.

Correct and the better racing tends to last more than a few seconds!
I prefer the stuff that lasts 24 hours
