Hi John
the driver is me and I have 5 layers of Nomax in the fire suite. . . more to the point the case is an aftermarket Strange case, it is made in 2 halfs plus a centre cap pressed from 3/8 minimum wall thickness steel and welded together. It is not some old ford yellow bus case that has spent 30 years driving around in the salt of New England. . . realistically the crown wheel is not spinning that quickly either, flat out across the line it will be only doing about 2000 revs, the Flexplate and torque converter are of more concern and with this configuration your legs are well away from those, on an altered/funny car you sit on the diff and have a foot either side of the flexplate personally I like this better.
There are some more pictures and videos from the season so far here https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gnuc0lc40g71loh/4c7yHnjmnS
Including the run on Saturday when the chassis broke!
Best regards
Mike

Hi John
I won't be out again this year with the slingshot, but come February I will be back out to play. If you can find time come to Santa Pod on a RWYB day, they are really good fun. If it is early in the season there is more time to chat and you get to do more runs (if you can get your engine started) as the queue is shorter in the fire up land. Come and have a look over the car and sit in it if you want you will quickly realise that there are other things to think about than the diff position!

Thanks for the invite, but sadly for me, I live in Cape Town and work in Port Harcourt, so you will need to post more pics for me, instead.
I will try and put up more videos and photos next season.
