Permission to wind the wick up on the cappa,

Post by Coops »

Hi all sorry not been about (Mike  )
been led up ill for 2 weeks, and then been and bought a new motor,

Now have a 4x4 truck, so once i have a trailer i can tow the cappa to and fro from the track, which also means i can start giving it some as no worries about getting her home if she breaks :D

Hi Tony
well now you are taking it seriously. . . . I look forward to this summer when it actually stops snowing and gets warm enough to burn Methanol, I will have you and Perry to chase down the 1/4 mile.
Best regards

Looks great Coops!!

If they still havent bothered fitting a lock to the D22 tailgate then I would advise fitting a couple of gate bolts each side of the tailgate inside.

When I got mine I had a carryboy top fitted. Within a week I came out to find some scroat had just pulled the tailgate open as the seal between the tail window and the tail gate was crap. Thats one of the reasons I moved out of Slough ??

Hi Tony
Where is the 3/4 ton of plumbing fittings, tools and general gubbins I am used to seeing in the crew cab I know of, I believe it is called ballest and is use to fine tune the ET of the tow car by certain MGB owners I know. . . .
Best regards

I had one for 5 years Coops. But then changed to the Isuzu Rodeo.

The D22 wasnt up to high annual motorway mileage to be honest. I do about 45-50k per year and the Nissan wasnt able to keep an engine in one piece for more than 28k miles without chucking a rod out the side. Its a long story but I think Nissan have the lubrication problem fixed now. I sold it to a mate of mine 5 years ago and he uses it for normal road use and shed loads of off road stuff. Its still going strong today :)

The Rodeo has been brilliant for the last 12 months and 46,000 miles since I got it........ Until last week when the electronic 4x4 poop packed in. Now I'm stuck in 2WD.

Its going to the garage on Monday for inspection. I prefered the second gear lever to select 4WD. This push button stuff is a bit girly for me...

I dont know how much towing you do, but the Nissan will drag the Cappa and trailer like its not even there ;)

NOW!!!!

Back to the point in question...

The Cappa!!

Are you going to bung it on a Dyno before the track time??
If so then talk to me because I can possibly get a good deal from Martin for a dyno day. I want to get mine back on the rollers, Mike wants to get the slingshot on the rollers as well.

If I have some idea of a time frame maybe we could all do what we want at a Dyno day???

I'm sure R2D2 might want to bung his Cappa on as well when he's finished his recent works.

Could JUNE be a good time for a Dyno day for the forum??

Im waiting for the hoses to be made mate,
Paul at roose said could be upto 4 weeks, (2 weeks ago),
im in the process of trying to get moved to the new house which means as soon as we move the cappa is on hold as it will have to go into storage until the garage is taken down here and put up over the new place,
so im a bit stuck, the quicker the garage gets moved the quicker i can get on with finishing the car off,

Also im on the hunt for a car trailer (cheap)

if all of the above (minus the trailer) are sorted before the end of April i stand a chance of getting the car finished and to the dyno in June,

When you get a tow bar fitted you can borrow my A frame if you want to Coops!
Technically only for recovery etc. But I used it for years with no problems or getting stopped.
