transit mk2 v8

hi guys just about to start a build on a mk2 transit which im gonna fit a 3.5 rover with an auto box.im a bit of a newbie when it comes to rover engines so no doubt i'll have a load of questions to ask and problems to help with solving.

Hi Welcome
first question, where are you going to put it? front or in the middle? I believe both have been done, if it is in the front I would get your tape measure out from what I remember it is not a very long engine bay.

cheers guys, all mad on here i should fit in fine then :lol:

engines going in the front :) yeah may need some bulkhead mods,im handy with a grinder and welder its v8 engines im no good with :wink:

im sure that on the subect of v8 transits, hows bout top gears "transit" it can be done

I did a similar job with my Sherpa, pics here:

Easier than a Transit because it's almost a parts-bin job, but the principle is similar I suspect.

The original Transit was designed around a V4 which was made with it in mind. So engine length is always going to be a problem.
