My home built mk1 escort v8
This is my baby, i've owned it since the early nineties, but did the conversion in 2007 i'm pleased to say i have done all of the work myself and it was my first conversion, she has a standard 3.5 sd1 v8 though i have now fitted a 390, mgb v8 manifolds (to fit bay) and a p6 water pump, mk1 3.0 capri axle, and 2.8 capri legs etc.. she looks a bit rough but i like it! thouh if i ever get time/money i would like a nice coat of white with a nice sixties style race paint scheme. This conversion cost me roughly £1600 which isn't alot just by finding/ making stuff myself, if anyone is planning a similar conversion to an escort drop me a line as i'm happy to help, i know know which bits fit easier! I will be looking for more power in the future but for now i'm happy enough just listening to the noise! I have some vids of the car on you tube, look me up under my name "unclethunderpants" hope you like!!

Like it. I bet that surprises a few ricer boys!
Minor point, but I presume that's grey primer that it's painted with. I think that grey primer isn't waterproof, so your beatiful motor will go rusty very quickly as rain can go straight through the paint.
Chris.

hey mgbv8 thanks for the invite i will try my best to make it to the pod in july, and it would be great to meet up with some of you folks on a run out somewhere, my only problem is that the v8 escort is off the road for a new steering rack (easy peasey) and for the axle to be shortened ( bugger.) but i could put off the axle shortening for a while! p.s thanks bones for the invite for spares, i'm ok at the mo except for a rack (if you have one) also let me know if you get stuck as i have a few bits
