spider plate ??
I've just bitten the bullet and fitted a spider plate instead of my crossife plate. This will save having a shed load of plumbing crawling all over the outside of the manifold as well.
I'm just about to bung my square bore crossfire plate on fleabay. I used to stack NOS plates to give me various stages of boost. My old crossfire plate will feed single and dual plane manifolds. And can be jetted to run from a 25hp shot of gas right up to a 600hp shot.
I'll be flow testing and trying the new systemm out this weekend...

They dont actually look right down into the middle of the inlet runners. The mix of fuel and nitrous seems to get churned up pretty good as it bounces around the runner. We have tried putting the nozzles in line with the runner angle and it makes no difference from what I can tell on the dyno.
I'll just be happy if the carb works ok and stops the bloody bogging issue. Cant fully test for a while yet due to work ??

That plate looks fantastic!
It looks to be much thicker than a normal plate system and am guessing at about 1" thick?
Would like to think that I will be running one of those in the future but bonnet clearance issues may prevent me from doing so

The plate is the same thickness as the plastic (phenolic) heat sink spacers that a lot of folk fit. About 13mm thicker than a Holley/Nos spray bar plate. It is 1" as you think.

The plate is around £300. The jet nozzles can be gently bent to get them where you need them. They look soft but take a bit of effort to bend. I made up a tool to bend them.
Stevie, if you are using -4 braided lines from bottle right up to solenoid. You will be able to flow up to 300hp of gas. Depending on the solenoids you are using. If you use a Wizards solenoid, you need to order them at the rating you want. ie 150-250-350 hp.

I've done my initial testing and it seems the plate gives quite a hard hit!!
My old plate used to atomise the fuel and nitous like a paint spray gun in the inlet manifold. This thing shoots liquid nitrous right into the runners and therefore seems to need a shed load more petrol to deal with it??
Not a surprise really!!
On the dyno she made almost the same as last years system with 50hp less nitrous
So the results are promising for me. Now I just need to tweak this old smoker 4.6 with naff compression so I can hit the low 10 or high 9 that I have spent the last 5 years looking for on a stock engine

I found a fuel flow issue that may have caused some problems.
This is now sorted and will be tested this weekend.
Now I need to sort out the new carb. Its playing up on the dyno with erratic readings. Luckily Mike (Kiwicar) has lent me a great book.

And I'm actually learning stuff again
I may have an issue with the power valve thats giving me odd afr on part throttle on the dyno.
I only know this because Mikes Book is great!!

UPDATE!!
The plate is not all its cracked up to be for small nitrous hits of 200-300hp.
I was told it was designed for a low pressure high volume fuel delivery system. After metling the engine I fitted a whole new fuel system on the advice of the designer?
I now have a new tank outlet of 11.5mm that connects to 12.5mm bore fittings and pipe into the Holley pump. the pump delivers 15psi via 12.5mm bore pipework to a holley regulator. The reg drops the fuel to 6psi at full flow on the 100hp test jets in the plate inlet connections. But the outlet of the plate is rated at 700hp flow rate. And when its perfectly level it delivers a pretty much even flow to all 8 outlets. But angle the plate at 30 degrees to simulate acceleration and the fuel all falls out the back??
No wonder I melted a few front plugs on the recent test runs on the strip?
I have found a possible solution, and so far its looking good
But no way will I run this plate as per the advice of the designer because it will melt my block again
I will no doubt end up disagreeing with the designer and falling out with him on this matter?
So I'll make it work my own way

Much better test results today I think
I jetted at 160hp of fuel and ran the delivery pessure at 13psi.
This gives a real good hit of fuel as the pump dead head unlaods and the pressure settles down. Then its still flowed from all 8 legs during the pulse cycle until it was on full power where all legs showed good flow consistantly.
It seems to me that for shots under 200hp this plate behaves better with jets at the outlets and not the inlet, and double the normal fuel pressure
