I dont have a petrol tank on my granny coupe, so i have a 70 doughnut where the tank was, and a 50 doughnut in the spare wheels well isolated with a solinoid cut off valve, so when the 70 empties, i can switch to the 50 as a reserve

only problem is filling, cuase the pressure from the 50 is holding the valve closed, but I've solved this with an older multivalve with turn screws, so i can isolate the fill on the 50, stick a screw driver in the filler and release the pressure, this way I can fill both tanks even though one has still got a good head of steam in there.

never had a vaporiser freeze under normal circumstances, though you might find if you dont have a way of priming it, you might find you do a lot more burling in the morning. my 1994 525ise bmw i have the fuel pump wire bridged, and this is only live with the engine running or the starter burling, so sometimes takes 30 seconds burling before it kicks into life.
