Elocution lessons so we can understand your Youtube videos?? :P :P :P
Its a trick to make people think Im being helpful when they see I've done some videos.

It's only when you try to understand what I'm saying they realise they need a Norfolk translator!

Proposed layout of the pipework.
Should say its not entirely to scale, I should have been a CAD drawer really :)

Going back to the belt layout I don't think the second route will have enough wrap arround the alternator. I would use an idler pulley to increase the wrap on the right of the alternator.

Hi Tom,
Ive had a play with it all and I think I can remove the current idler and make the alternator adjustable. This will give me a good wrap around on all the pulleys. I will make a couple of brackets up to allow the alternator to move, but it looks very easy to do in theory ;)

I did one like this.

The supercharger had it's own drive belt driven off the pas. I put a tensioner rod underneath the s/c carrier. This way meant I could leave the existing drive belt alone.

But its not powder coated :)

Have you played with waste gates on a blower setup?
Im very tempted to give it a go, they are cheap enough to add and if they work as they should in theory, it could really help me slowly increase boost keeping it safe as I go.
I have the largest pulley that Rotrex sell now, but Im still concerned it may give me too much, probably worrying too much. But worth playing with,
Phil

I built it for somebody else. It was a 4.8l on 7 or 8:1 compression. I had the drive pulley made locally once I'd calculated out the ratio I needed to get the s/c revs I wanted. Last I heard the car was fitted with tb's but I've lost touch with it. Many years ago I did a 5.4 for s/c use but couldn't get the c/r below 9:1 iirc and that was with buick heads. I wonder if my 5.4 was built the same way as yours. I retained the 94mm liners and went big on stroke using one of my cranks and I remember using fueli rods and an off the shelf piston from somewhere. Two of the rod bolts had to be fettled to clear the cam. It rotated nicely after that, lol.

I decided on this route for the belt. Very easy to do, as I removed the spring idler and made a couple of slotted brackets to allow the alternator to become adjustable.

Also made a cradle for the charge cooler over the weekend, will trial fit it tonight and load some pics if it goes OK,

I would have a concern with the lack of belt wrap around the crank pulley.
is there any way you could add an idler to the left of the crank pulley to help?

The SC setups that a certain TVR company sell have about 2/3rds that wrap and they seem to work. Whilst I agree its not ideal, I will have to see how it goes.

Will you get much cool air through the chargecooler there Phil? Looks like the only air it'll get is the hot air coming through the radiator??
