Evening all,as my eaton blower is going to be blowing into rv8 plenum(lowered)do you still need the trumpets or can i just machine some nice bells into where trumpets were,does that make sense?

not sure what you will gain height wise if that is your aim but plenum roof height to inlet tract end is a dimension that effects the shape of the torque curve (but not much on an engine with power output of the rover). Quite honestly compared to the addition of the turbo anything else is just painting the wheels.

thanks mike,that puts my mind at rest and can now junk the trumpets and machine the base.

Its a common modification to lose the trunpets and blend the base. Moves the power up the range apparently.
My TVR currently has this set up and produces nice torque and 308 bhp.
I wouldnt worry too much about losing trumpets, especially on a boosted motor.
