Cheers Andy!
I'm going to put it on the rollers this weekend if all goes well. I got a bit too carried away while messing with the timing and popped both head gaskets :)

Then I realised I had made a stupid mistake cos I was not thinking straight and I ran it with 10 degree's too much advance at 8psi of boost ??

I should have it all glued back together by Friday night.

Glad you've got it sorted Pel! :D

I'm following this with interest, hopefully (if I can make it) we'll have time for a chat at the Retro.

Regards Ged

And after playing with ign timing all day yesterday at the Pod she is running regular high 11's on the 1/4mile.
I've just ordered another pulley to increase my boost :)

7psi just aint enough ???

7 to 10 psi isn't much. Certainly on the dakar with turbo's i cant really tell the difference between the two boost levels.

shoot for 12+ psi
-are you running low compression - or shouldn't i ask!

Elliot, I think with the size of Perry's ring gaps you have to add the crank case volume when calculating the CR

I'm just taking baby steps chaps.
Which isnt my usual way of doing things is it :)
Its nearly a 50% increase so will be interesting to see what difference it makes on the rollers.

Dont forget I have 300hp of nitrous in reserve for power top ups if required??

Didn't give me much on the track.........
Went from 4psi to 8 psi but Ill guess spinning my small 110ci blower faster only gives more intake heat.....

Two years ago, 3.5RV8, Merlin heads & 4 psi boost:
60 ft ---------2.1185
330 ft -------6.0243
1/8 ET-------9.2692
1/8 MPH---77.18
1000’ET----11.8882
¼ ET--------14.2581
¼ MPH ---- 98.27

Now, 3.5 RV8, Merlin heads & 8 psi boost + water/methanol injection (300cc@150psi wmi kit, 50% mixtrure comes in at 6psi boost)
60 ft ---------2.1366
330 ft -------5.9859
1/8 ET-------9.1441
1/8 MPH---78.72
1000’ET----11.7974
¼ ET--------14.0528
¼ MPH ---- 99.63

We thought the water/methanol mix was slowing me down so I switched it off to make another test run ( did retard BTM ½’more too).
This came out..
60 ft ---------2.2444
330 ft -------6.1789
1/8 ET-------9.4006
1/8 MPH---77.22
1000’ET----12.1013
¼ ET--------14.3771
¼ MPH ---- 97.51
Well apparently the WMI kit is saving the day by cooling the intake charge down to give some benefit of my boost increasement

Still on 3.09 end gear but two years ago tyre size was 195/50/15 now it is 225/50/15.

Btw it was nice meeting you Perry.

10 psi + 100 shot of gas = 10.41 at 129.55 mph.

Here is one of the test runs before we wound the power up.

Suspension is now an issue I need to look at ??
