ah thanks mate, didnt realise it was a bigger charger,

i am looking for a smaller body one to be honest,
i gather the V1 is smaller than the novi mentioned?

if so is that the smaller one in the vortech range dimension size wise?

thanks for your help again Stevie T.

If any one else finds any similar info with diagrams let me know please as going to set a section up on the forum with charger dimensiions to make it easier for peeps to work the sizes out.

The smallest dia centrifugals are rotrex. Not far behind is the procharger c1&2 but these are less deep than the rotrex.

Right,
before i rush out and start buying chargers,
what max boost should i be putting into the 4.6 reallisticly (and no replies like as much as you can now Stevie, be good  )
as need to work out what rpm the charger needs to turn etc to get the right matched pulleys,
the serp bottom pulley on the rv8 is around 6.75".

Not as simple as that. You'll have some time trying to figure out pulley sizes for a specific boost level. You'd need to know the exact air consumption of your engine at any given time along with god knows how many other things

If your blower is listed as being capable of supplying air for 500bhp, then spin it to the maximum. Chances are you wont actually make 500bhp though due to various losses.
But IMO that would be the easiest way to establish a pulley size to aim for. Chances of getting it right first time are slim.

Just build the engine with a little safety into the CR with regards to boost. But even 9.0:1 should be quite safe.

not sure on the CR at present mate, think its higher than 9.0
hence why we talked about a while back of only going to about 8psi of boost.

It will be difficult to select pulleys to give you a certain boost level.

I'm around 9.5:1 and around 20psi at 7k

The fact these blowers dont make a lot of boost in the mid-range, means you can get away with a higher CR.

Plus the fact boost is always rising with rpm.
