I was in the right place right time situation the other day and picked up a Paxton Blower for the princly sum of £15
Its rated at 440cfm @60000rpm, which I assume is the input shaft driven speed,
what I dont know is if its big enough for a 4.6, or shal I save it for my sons 2.4 pinto

the 440 cu ft seems small for one of these things, are you sure you haven't missed of 1 off the front? as you will know these are usually fitted to 5 litre plus american lumps, 440 cuft/ min gives 3.3 litres a 7psi and 6000 revs (60000 on the supercharger), as they generally deliver boost exponentially then you are looking at 3 to 3.5 psi at 3000 revs.
Stick a 1 in front of it (1440 at 60000 revs) then you could feed a 5.7 litre with 8 to 9 psi max boost and running the unit at say 50,000 rpm on the supercharger and 6000 revs on the crank, this would give a flatter boost curve and seem more like a typical kit and application.
