With my 4-71 blower nicely mated to the inlet manifold, and (finally!) the serp front end complete enough to start making decisions from- the old snout for the blower is going to have to be long- like roughly 10" (not including pulley).
It will be strong as I am going to machine it out of a lump of billet ally 6" diameter- just looks like a long stretch! Using a toothed belt I shouldn't have to tighten it much which will help- but just want to find some re-assurance!
As good as the interim front end is for my requirements it makes for a ridiculously long set up
Input & opinions welcome as always guys,
TC

Hi TC,
i will be working the design from this idea
http://www.britishv8.org/Articles/MGB-V ... harger.htm
but my idea is to run it the other side, it will keep the water pump the same and the alterator same as before

Yes I was going to say it might be an idea to put some braising in and Kevin's link shows that nicely. Not so much for the snout but it will put a lot of stress on the inlet manifold joint and manifold itself which could lead to flexing and then your belt tension goes out and your belts get thrown. A braise like the link shows would get rid of all that completely.
