weber500 carb and turbo?

Post by motherofgod »

Does anyone know whether a weber 500 carb could be used if twin turbo'd?

not without modification as the weber is designed to operate under atmospeheric conditions, not the high pressure assocated with forced induction. You could probably modify it but it might be a pain. I ran 2 jag carbs in a suck-throu configuration in my twin turbo MG before I converted to EFI. Still have them in the garage.

Will work if you stick it in a box sealed so the carb sits in the same pressure of the turbo. Not the best solution by far tho.

Ok that's fine, I wanted to turbo mine cheaply, and thought maybe I could use the Weber with a carb hat etc, but can sell it and use money for turbo's etc

Anyone got a janspeed kit hiding away!

Er, yes actually, I have a Janspeed kit. And I know of another one up for sale as well.

I'm still using the manifolds and turbos, but the inlet manifold, cross-over pipes, breather system, carbs and turbo-carb mounts are all in a box somewhere in my garage! If ya interested drop me a PM and I can sort some photos out for you. Where ya based?
