Jets squirters and pumps should interchange ok, not sure if you will have the large sizes you will need. I think you will need the 50cc accelerator pumps as there will be a good chance of bogging with such a big carb. The 50cc pumps have dedicated pump cams that work work quicker than the standard ones. Tuning wise though it's exactly the same as a smaller Holley.

Thanks for the info Alan!

Carb should be here saturday morning :) It turns out the seller knows some folk that I know like Steve Green and Steve Good. I think he's restoring an old Tim Hines escort as well. A very nice bloke to deal with.

I've tried USA automotive and Real Steel but they dont do the adaptors. Real Steel did say that I could give them a part number and they would order in for me. I'll do that to see if they are any cheaper than buying direct from USA and paying high postage and import tax??

Now I just need to make sure that I get my weekend job done by Saturday night so I can play with carbs on Sunday whilst avoiding the Xmas dec's job.

Reg!
Gill has told me that Mikes Holiday form is on my desk. But I havent signed it off yet

Your blower will thank you, kind of like trying to take a deep breath through a straw with the little carb. Wide open like a pursuit cyclist with the dominator.

For a starting point for jetting look for a set up for a mild 427 454 BBC and go from there, that will be close to the same airflow as your 4-71.

Cheers Alan!
It has 50cc pumps fitted. I've just bathed it in brake cleaner and stripped it down. Its almost like new?

Cant see or feel any spindle or linkage wear.

I will research the settings for the engines as you suggest and jet it out to suit for the test runs next month :)

Regards
Perry

Thats so funny Eliot !

I had almost the same conversation about 2 hours ago when a V8 mate came round for a cuppa....

I whipped the mesh out of the chip pan and cleaned it. Then dropped it onto the carb on the kitchen side.

I told him it was the Holley Bird guard
