try 5 bar
slots anywhere really, thats just a massive design weakness. Slots in the skirt, or equally important if not more, slots behind the oil control ring.
They will not last IMO.
Whilst not ideal, even if you can buy some off the shelf quality pistons, and skim the crown a little to help reduce CR. At least the actual piston design will be strong.

i was told 5 bar, but i think he had about as much of an idea on turbos as ive got, which says it all . so those pistons are no good then, so looks like pistons will be forged, just need to decide on what engine size??. what sought of comp should i be looking at with using a blow through carb. lower the better??

600 DP is too big for blow through on a RV8. I could never get one to work right. I ended up with a 465 modified for a DP.bones wrote:i guess we can all assume i got the 5 bar thing wrong . what would 7psi be in bhp in a 3.9 rover using intercooler and a 600dp carb (which was built to used with a procharger ), rich
The 600 would only work when half the carb was used.
Use a smaller carb.
Ok then the easiest thing is for someone to explain the best way and a cheap way of getting 500bhp from a rover v8, using a blow through carb set up or carbs if su,s are ok and an intercooler. And please reply as if writing a book called ,turbo'ing for dummies. I thank you.
