It's likely to learn its way into the bin to be honest - we have a megasquirt already for it (bought from a member on here), we just didn't have time to fit it before the IVA.
Also I was worried about fitting the lambda boss onto the exposed exhaust pipes from an IVA point of view, but our tester was really helpful and explained what we could get away with. Essentially I just need to make sure the boss has a radius on it - which is easy.
Ok - ditched the 14CUX and now running megasquirt and coilpacks, with a wideband. Car still stinks to high heaven, despite a 13-14 on the wideband (which doesn't seem to be very steady). If you rev it up to about 2k it starts popping and running badly.
I'm beggining to wonder if I've mistimed the cam - I took a photo of it at the time, as i noticed a few different marks on the lower sprocket.
Does this look right:
As i'm not convinced its right now.. (hence why i took a photo at the time, as i thought this may come back to haunt me)
Hi
Not sure what timing you were going for but I would say that you had it timed 2 degrees retarded, is that what you were after? I think it would be well worth checking the lift at .05" against the timing card for the cam though, if you need a big timing disc for the crank I can drop mine over one evening.
Best regards
Mike
Hi Mike.
Wasn't planning on any adv/retard - just wanted in the correct place. At the time i didn't have the kit to clock it correctly - so took a guess.
The problem is that i didn't know which numbers i was supposed to be using. That lower gear has two rows of numbers and I wasn't sure which to use.
Has anyone seen that style of gear before?
Well that was my reasoning anyway line the dot with the -2 and the woodruff key with the -2 position = 2 degrees retarded, 0 to the dot and 0 to the key = straight up, though as Stevie says 2 degrees on a rover with no tensioning arrangment as it has would make nor differance in the real world.
I can drop a dial gauge and degree wheel over on Thursday night if it helps??
Best regards
Mike

Cheers mike - i've got all the gear myself now.
Hmm - wonder what the issue is then..
Will check it out anyway though.
How can 1 "woodruff" key slot equate to 2 degrees?
To my eye each "slot" would be approximately 25 degrees apart.
At 2 to 1 ratio to the cam that would equate to 12.5 degrees out
I'm probably missing something but from the picture I cannot see anything like a 2 degree adjustment
