Fron (or rear) facing plenum
I know this has come up before but I can't find it using the search (bit impatient today!).
Where could I get one of those front or rear-facing plenums, like the westfields use?
I may have to bin the original plenum as a) its too high) and b) it gets in the way of the nearside rocker breather connection (as in i can't fit it at all!)
oh yeah, and that custom swirl pot thing is a bloody nightmare to sort so I'm binning it totally!

Is it not easier to move the rocker breather? and cut down the existing plenum a bit? (I am sure I have seen that thread on the old forum) Just the front to rear plenums all seem to be made of carbon fiber and as a result cost a fortune.
Don't know about the custom swirl pot thingy.
Best of luck
Mike

yeah that's all westfield do, but I have absolutely no fabrication/welding skill and wouldn't want to try at the moment, especially with aluminium. PLus I don't nkow anyone who could do it for me.
I've just tried westfield but no-one was available to help, I just want to know hoe much the factory ones are.
ACT just quoted me nearly 400 smackers for a carbon plenum and throttle body. £275 for just the carbon bit.

The factory westfield plenum is several hundred pounds. We got lucky and bought one from V8 Developments that he had on the shelf. (that was removed for a carbon one)
Photo's of the actual westfield one being built at the factory are on my site:

problem is that you would still have a 65mm throttle - might be easier to weld a plate on the end and fit a 70+ mm throttle on it.

hmmm cheers for the link forgot you had all that on your site.
Ok, functional question now; how does a front facing plenum compare to the standard one, in terms of air flow etc? . . . remember I have twin turbos so will that affect things?
Off topic slightly; the guy at ACT told me Prism have just fitted one of their carbon plenums to that mental twin turbo Griffiths they have . . . puts out circa 700lb/ft so I'm told from a V8D 5.3litre

The westfield design was approved by rover, they (rover) insisted that a divider plate was fitted internally to allow the air to flow to the back of the plenum.
To me (and others) it looked like more of a restriction and i removed it. I also shortened the trumpets (not an issue in your case!).
I would weld a 10mm plate on the front and bolt a throttle body on it.

I WISH you had made me one of those plastic inlets!! Infact I would pay good money for one!
I do want to make another one but actually perform a back to back dyno test to see if it actually works.
there's the taraka version on ebay now, i prefer my version if i'm honest.
