Normal or Super Petrol????
Hawk 289 passed (barely) it's annual MoT, bit iffy on the CO2 aspect. I'm running a 3.9l with the ubiquitous Weber, timing at 800 rpm 12 degrees, all in (32) at 2800. Jets .83 Rods 63/47. Oil changed/new air filter etc. and a good blast before test. I Generally use 95 octane with no problems, but wondering if putting in a tank of super just before next MoT would lower the emissions, even if by a little?

It is possible to get quite a clean burn with the 500 carb but you need a means of monitoring the exhaust gas AND big collection of rods and jets.
Your current setup is around 7% leaner than the base setup on cruise and more or less stock on the acceleration circuit.

Ok, I was hoping that with less ethanol in the high octane petrol it might have given me a slightly cleaner burn!
I will borrow brothers Gunsons CO2 thingy and play with the selection of jets/rods that I have around!
