Morning all, I'm looking at changing my noisy electronic fuel pump on my dax. The one fitted is one of the older style that gives that nasty sounding clicking noise. I'm guessing it contains a regulator as there is no return to the tank. It's mounted up next to the tank.
My question is what can I replace it with and do I need to use a fuel pressure regulator or will the floats in the carb stop the flow without causing damage. I'm running an edelbrock 500 cfm carb.
Thanks Sam
What fuel pump for rover v8 4.6 on edelbrock 500cfm carb

I run the Edelbrock pump, its not cheap but it's fairly quiet, it has an internal bypass so it won't stall and does not need a regulator, with any pump you need to be sure that it can provide enough fuel for the engine at WOT. The Edelbrock pump can supply more than enough fuel for my 300 BHP 4.6 and then for a 100 BHP NOS shot.....

I use a Pierburg pump to fuel the 500 on my 4.6 with bv Buick heads.

I have a facet silver top pump that outputs 4psi. Running a 4.5 big valve and edelbrock 600.
No issues, all runs well.
